Introduction
Water
resources management and policy research center was established in May
1999, and has signed a contract of cooperation with the Water Resources
Bureau, MOEA in January 2000. This center is dedicated to assist our government
in reinforcing water resources management policy planning and propaganda.
I.Views

A. Technology Development
Section
¡´ To practice hydrology analysis and water
resources management technology research;
¡´ To provide basic theories of new technology for water management.

Irrigation Management Section
¡´To assist with extending the
task of Irrigation Associations;
¡´To assist with setting up a law for administrative system of irrigation
affairs.
C.
Policy Extension Section
¡´To
provide an overall concept and information to project the trend of domestic
water resources management for the future.
¡´To couple with Government's policy to promote water conservation and
preservation activities.
D. Policy Planning Section
¡´To
undertake forecasting and studies to assist both public and private sector
organization in formulating effective water resources strategies.
¡´To act as a 'think-tank' to help formulate strategies and methodologies
to ensure sustainability of water resources.
¡´To develop, maintain and update a computerized information system including
databank.
¡´To provide policymakers with reliable information
about the effectiveness of existing policies and potential strategies
for action.

1.In
technology research and application, the main progress which have been
made are as following:
¡´Recommending and evaluating modern hydrologic observation
technologies.
¡´Standard operating procedure for hydrologic observation and data quality.
¡´Studying on hydrologic and water resources analysis methods and their
standards.
¡´Research into scientific management method and strategies.
¡´Diversifying water resources management and river basin governance.
¡´Editing technique handbooks and educational training courses related
with hydrology, water resource.
¡´Publishing the periodicals related with hydrology and water resources
circumstances.

a comprehensive planning service of the Irrigation management, the main
progress which have been made are as following:
¡´Analyzing the trend of water resource development and assisting with
planning the government's irrigation policy.
¡´Assisting with innovating the government's high-tech industry development
and innovation.
¡´Providing the irrigation policy and standardization operation service.
¡´Auditing the Irrigation Association affairs and editing standardization
operation procedure.
¡´Organizing, analysis, enriching the Irrigation Association basic data.

policy extension and information service, the main progress which have

experts' opinion.
¡´Creating seminar and exhibition to give information to the general public,
and extending the public affairs.
